An article from April 22, 1991, reports Sigma Chi held a "ugliest girl contest" where a sigma member would dress up as a woman. A Gamma Phi member dressed a sigma member in Black Face with pillow stuffed breasts and buttocks.
Archie Kao did not condemn the actions of either greek organization and attempted to veto the Student Senate by leaving the meeting before it was finished. A member of the Senate was given note with Kao's veto of the resolution condemning offensive activities.
